Duties Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager responsible for managing safety and health issues such as operation and maintenance associated with hydroelectric power plants, reservoirs, and other water conveyances, buildings, hazardous materials, and recreation areas. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Responsibilities Develops and manages the safety and occupational health and industrial hygiene programs within the Lower Colorado Basin (LCB). Serves as the primary consultant to the Regional Management Team and primary safety contact for LCB safety and occupational health policy matters. Works with LCB safety community to identify the need for safety processes, procedures or requirements in order to protect the safety of employees, the public, and the environment. Represents the LCB at safety and health conferences, workshops, councils, and teams. Performs the full range of supervisory duties. Plans work to be accomplished, set priorities, and establish schedules for work completion for Industrial Hygienist and Safety & Occupational Health Specialist. Oversees administration of the Occupational Medical Monitoring Program which ensures employees are fit for duty and that the LCB is in compliance with mandatory Reclamation, OSHA and DOT physical clearance requirements. Reviews systems, procedures, and accident/incident reports, and conducts accident analysis to identify root causes. Develops preventative measures to reduce or eliminate potentially hazardous work practices or conditions. Travel Required
