The Position







Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.











This position is located within Northern Nevada Child and Adolescent Services' business office and performs accounts receivable/medical billing duties. This position's duties include but are not limited to quality assurance, claim batching and tracking, electronic and hard copy remittances review and account records updates that involve multiple payment streams, and payment verification and posting. This position will utilize Avatar billing software and Medicaid portals and tools. This position assists with accounts receivable functions oversight through quality assurance but does not have supervisory responsibility. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

















Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)











Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience which included duties such as responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and/or other accounting data; setting up computer spreadsheets to record, track, organize and report data; researching and interpreting financial data to prepare reports and respond to budget and accounts related inquiries; and reconciling accounts; OR one year of experience as an Accounting Assistant II in Nevada State service which included clerical accounting duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.























Special Requirements











A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.



















Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
