Overview of Select Medical Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals
Select Medicals Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with:Brain InjurySpinal Cord InjuryStrokeAmputationNeurological DisordersOrthopedic ConditionsMultiple Traumas
Performs general mechanical and preventative tasks. Inspects, services, repairs and overhauls equipment of the physical plant as directed.
Specific DutiesCarries out routine and specific assignments to insure that the physical plant and assigned equipment are in safe operating conditionand are in compliance with applicable policies and with regulatory and /or accrediting codes and specifications, including:
a. Inspects and completes repairs as documented via Maintenance Requesting logging system on a daily basis.
b. Tests emergency generators and equipment and documents the tests as directed.
c. Conducts daily rounds and inspects and repairs, when necessary plumbing, including but not limited to faucets, toilets and showers.
d. Performs daily checks on the boilers, hot water heaters and water softeners as necessary. Adds salt to the softeners as needed.
e. Visually checks aesthetics during rounds, i.e., stained ceiling tiles, chipped /dirty paint and/or anything that would diminish the appearance of the building.Performs painting and carpentry work as assigned.Performs electrical work under the supervision of the Director.Participates in a twenty-four hour/seven day a week mechanic on-call schedule.Adheres to Hospital Infection Control policy and procedures.Carries out routine and specific assignments to insure the Physical Plant and associated equipment are in safe operating condition
Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses)High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school background preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance, repair, and safety procedures required.
