of this position include:
  • Create GIS data from LiDAR, aerial photography, CAD, and GPS sources to support facilities and environmental staff as needed.
  • Ensure data conforms to Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and those applicable features link to the appropriate PRIDE records.
  • Make a variety of maps to include land navigation training maps in MGRS, construction project maps, building floorplans, surface danger zone and range development, etc.
  • Provide GIS training as necessary to NVARNG staff in its use and where to locate data.
  • Use military specific tools for ArcGIS like RMTK and MGRS.
  • Maintain current versions of ArcGIS software on necessary desktops.
  • Serve as POC for NVARNG IT staff for software installs, license updates, and data storage issues.
  • Coordinate with National Guard Bureau (NGB) staff as necessary to resolve CIP QAP issues and migrate to newer versions of the SDSFIE standards as they become available.
  • Compile and optimize high resolution imagery in an image enterprise geodatabase for deployment on a server.
  • Basic Requirements for Experience, Skills, Education, and Credentials include:
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field and 3 years of related experience
  • Experience working with the military or federal government
  • Experience working with enterprise geodatabases
  • Hands-on knowledge of managing a relational database management system
  • Familiarity with Python and SQL
  • Extensive experience using ESRI ArcGIS products
  • Familiarity with SDSFIE standards
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a Common Access Card
  • The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to:
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation, which will include a check of state motor vehicle records
  • Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle, key, grasp or feel
  • Must be able to adjust to repetitive motion, reaching with hands and arms
  • Must be able to jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
