Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity? Do you want to promote safe operation of motorcycles and other vehicles to members of our Navy in support of the Navy's Traffic Safety Program? The Cape Fox Facilities Services (CFFS) Instructor delivers training and safety program requirements through effective and positive delivery of all required Traffic Safety Program curricula. The Instructor provides motorcycle safety courses and on request automobile, and ATV off road safety courses in accordance with approved curricula standards. The Traffic Safety Program Instructor helps to ensure that operations are at peak performance and training goals are in accordance with (or exceed) contractual requirements.
The Instructor will assist in the implementation of operational plans and ensure adherence to Safety Office procedures in support of program initiatives. The Instructor shall take direction from the Area Supervisor and be ready to assist with the delivery of technical guidance, safety information, and local program management information to the Regional Safety office at his/her respective installation. This position requires effective communication and execution of company policies. This position also requires on-going training and mentoring from the Area Supervisor and other Cape Fox Senior or QA staff to ensure coordination, support, and execution of organizational goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Deliver approved curricula including Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), NSC Alive @ 25, and SVIA ATV safety center-approved Programs of Instruction (as applicable to the contract). This may include other accepted basic and advanced curricula at the request of Installation Safety Managers, but within the scope of the current contractual obligation. Remain accountable for student success during training and provide training course documentation to the CFFS Area Supervisor Participate in the scheduling of training classes Without exception, interface effectively and respectfully with Cape Fox supervisory and Regional Safety Office staff. Conform to standards of conduct and code of ethics; maintain professionalism. Assist the Area Supervisor in the evaluation of lesson materials, ranges, and equipment to ensure that they are current and meet established standards. Secure, maintain, and be responsible assigned government owned or CFFS equipment. Assist in the creation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual training reports in accordance with Cape Fox Facilities Services Standard Operating Procedures and as directed by the Area Supervisor or Program Manager (PM) Participate in the proper maintenance of training motorcycles as necessary to accomplish motorcycle training. Initiate parts and supplies orders with management approval. Transport supplies and parts. Available for surge scheduling requirements at the installation. Seek and receive Instructor coaching and mentoring from supervisory staff Know and implement Cape Fox personnel policies, procedures, and on-going training as directed by the regional lead or any other supervisory staff Maintain compliance with all Government contractor service provider procedures and military protocols as required by the contract and its references (e.g. Joint Travel Regulations)
Travel Requirements 0 - 10% Salary Grade Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age and a licensed motorcyclist with years of riding experience Minimum certification of MSF BRC required, except for NSC and SVIA courses. Must possess experience in civilian automobile or motorcycle safety, military traffic safety, and/or law enforcement
The Traffic Safety Program Instructor will be required to maintain certifications from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and possibly NSC, SVIA, or other recognized and approved agencies. Prefer one or more of the following certifications: MSF BRC2 MSF ARC MSF BRC Update MSF DBS SVIA ATV NSC Alive @ 25 Current CPR Certification/First Aid required for consideration Ability to utilize MS Office applications and demonstrate basic computing skills Ability to view and read computer terminals on a frequent basis, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions, sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift at least 50 pounds Reliable work ethic and able to maintain confidentiality Able to professionally interface with peers and all levels of internal company management, Safety Office Staff, and high-ranking military personnel Able to accommodate surge requirements at installation and within the region Strong client service background and some technical analysis skills are desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Knowledge of Government contracting and military protocol are desired, but not required. Ability to use hand tools and test equipment for purposes of light machinery repair (training bikes) Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
